Keep the dots and add the signal
FoodKind does not hide your recorded weights. It plots them, then adds a trend line that is less reactive to a single high or low reading.
Once enough entries exist, the chart also gives a seven-day rate so the direction is easier to understand.
Put the scale beside the calorie evidence
Weight trend is only one part of the Insights view. You can compare it with logged calorie averages, cumulative deficit and energy-estimated progress.
When those signals disagree for a short period, you have context. You do not have to decide that the whole plan failed overnight.
Use a trend, not a promise
A trend responds to the data you record. It cannot remove every fluctuation or predict the future with certainty. It gives you a steadier view for reviewing direction and deciding whether more consistent logging is needed.
What you can do
- ✓ Keep every real weigh-in
- ✓ Add a straight trend line
- ✓ See average weekly change after enough data
Common questions
Why does scale weight change so much day to day?
Short-term weight includes more than fat tissue. Food, fluid and normal measurement variation can all change the number.
Does FoodKind replace the scale number?
No. It keeps your weigh-ins visible and adds a trend and energy-based context.
How many weigh-ins do I need?
The chart works with early entries, while the seven-day change indicator appears once enough days have been logged.
